I've just got an xbox from a friend yesterday it's not modded.

I'm planning on modding it, will i be able to play downloaded games online (halo 2 etc)? Of course i know it won't work through microsoft live, but i've heard there are some alternatives.

depends on the game

FPS seam to be the most popular with flying and racing the second most popular

its usualy not too hard to find an opponent

Softmodding , but its best to just installa  chip , very easy , no wires to solder , errr no wires period hehe

The latest Xenium SPice chip just plugs into the xbox mainboard and can be fitted in seconds by almost anyone .

Softmoddign is a pain in the ass compared to installing a chip

Its working without any Crack. Just make sure to instal DirectX 9.0c. I did it and its working now

Thanks for the advice, i have just gone out and bought a chip and i am trying to fit it to my version 1.0 exbox but i am having trouble finding where to put the clear plastic part? can any1 help me ?

might be helpful to tell us which chip you have

basicly the same thing

really not hard and when you have 1.0 version its so simple

it probally took me like 10 minutes to install it being very careful and checking the d0 connection many times

socom 3 will be released in US tomorrow, is there anyway an australian with an ntsc mod chip could play a burnt copy of it online on the US servers? or would i have to use x-link?

nevermind don't know if ps2 online checks if game is original

i use alcohol 120% and no problem so far its the same as pc games u can use nero too
