I'm new to the whole idea of modding a console. So, by patient please. I have a PS2, one of the original ones. And I want to mod it so I can play burned games on it. Now, what information do I need to gather in order to find out what to do and how to do it? And what is the best way of modding, how much money would it cost and how simple/difficult is it to do?

Most of the mod chips you buy either come with instructions, or there are instructions on how to install it on their website. You are most likely going to need to solder the chip inside the ps2. The mod chips range from around 20 dollars, up to 80 dollars, depending on what all your want the chip to do. As for how simple/difficult, that depends on how well you can take apart your ps2 and how well you solder..

Is there a special way to copy the dvd ps2 riginal game and burn it ,i tryed it with dvd decrypter and burn it with it but when i put in on the ps2 play's the game very slow and it stops to loading.

Alibabba :Try using Nero or Alcohol 120% at 1 0r 2 speed !

Is there a particular advantage you get with a mod chip over a swap disc? Would it be just as good to use a swap disc rather than opening up the PS2 and soldering?

Anyone here use FREE HD LOADER with the memory card exploit? If so, can I just burn games to DVD and load them into FREE HD LOADER?

My PS2 is not chipped. I use a network adapter + Maxtor HD + MC exploit w/ MLB 2000 as the trigger game.

Anytime I use a retail game, I can copy it to the HD no problem. I would hate to DL a huge ISO and not be able to use it with my setup.

I don't know if this is the right thread to be posting in but I'll give it a shot anyway.

What do I do with the files I download for PS2? Are they ISO's?

If they are, do I just burn the image onto a dvd and stick it into the PS2 or what?

I know how use files that I get for games on the comuter but I've never used PS2 files before or even downloaded them because until recently I didn't have a DVD burner.

So, if I download an xbox game, I can transfer it to the hard drive on the xbox and play it from there? A little explanation of how would be nice.

first you have to extract the iso i recommend

then just ftp the extracted data to your harddrive in a games folder that your dashboard scans

then just go to your loading options in your dashboard and boot the game

I personally would recommend Qwix over Craxtion. Some people can have problems with Craxtion, and it requires the .Net Framework (which some may not like).

Qwix is the best!
Just load the iso and FTP the game to the box.

Edit: Oh, yeah, you need Avalaunch to use the built in FTP service in Qwix.
Atleast i need it.

If you download a game, you can use WINHIIP to transfer the game to the hard-drive.
Just take the hard drive out of your PS2, set the jumper to slave, put it in your PC, winhiip will recognise the ps2 boot sector & you can transfer your .ISO to the hard-drive.

So I hooked my xbox in to my LAN at home. I have my router that connects to a switch with my computer and my brother's in it, and now my xbox. In the router admin page it shows that the xbox is on the network, it sees the mac address and is assigning it an IP, but when I try to ping it, it times out. What does that mean? I have all the settings on the xbox set correctly.

I don't believe you need Avalaunch (though one or two features currently only work when Avalaunch is running on the Xbox - namely game organisation). I use my own builds of XBMC as my Xbox dashboard, and only ever go into Avalaunch if I want to use the Qwix game organiser thing (to get an html file of my games etc.). Otherwise, I'm running XBMC and it's FTP server when I transfer games over, and that works fine.

if you're trying to create a boot disc i'm sure theres plenty on the internet, if u look in the right places

if u wanna upload torrents u have to be a uploader ramza

diegote u might wanna make sure you have the newest version of winrar, and qwixiso, and make sure ur bt client is not downloading garbage

is it possible to change my neo2.2 chip in my ps2 with an other chip, or do I then need a new ps2?

its true that neo2.2 dont support dvdr ? So i can only play ripped ps2 games ?!?!

Just download Superdisc.. Then you'll have Evox and plenty of other useful apps installed at once.
