have you tried to download and play any of the NTSC games, becuase I'm pretty sure on a lot of games there is no real difference between the versions, just some format codes or something in the default.xbe (or whatever that file is) and a modded xbox disregards that. I have and NTSC box and every PAL gmae i have downloaded has worked fine for me. In my opinion, its worth a shot to try a few NTSC games and see if the work. If you have a big enough hd in you xbox, just through them on to it and don't waste any media. good luck

It's a tv issue. If the person knows NTSC won't display, downloading a game "just incase" isn't going to help at all. Neither is SCART or any other input. Old PAL tv's just often can't display NTSC signals, which NTSC games output as.

I can't offer any help really though, the only option is to buy a tv that can display NTSC signal, or to just go and rent the PAL version (or if it's a new game, wait until the PAL version is uploaded somewhere).

scart doesnt display NTSC or PAL, it displays RGB
so it will work if youve got scart.

well, strange thing happend today, i downloaded PGR2 (ntsc) and it workes just fine. so downloading an other ntsc game now to see, cause i had amped2 but that just gave me a black screen, so maybe it's not because of the game being ntsc, but the iso is just broken of something. I'll just see what it dows with an other game

well, SW:KOTOR NTSC works fine to, guess no more problems for me then

OK, people need to stop spreading false information regarding XBOX and PAL/NTSC ! :angry:

Each time someone ask they get the same old speech...
I was once told the same bullsh*t... then... one day I downloaded a NTSC game and, lo and behold it worked flawlessly.

The bottomline is 95% of all games play fine regardless of videomode.

Sure there are some issues, switching videomode will fix these problems.
Anyway, I can play all my games in both PAL and NTSC. Keep in mind games do not switch videomode by themself, you have to do that manually.

Let's download all the ntsc games i can find! Yeah, let's do that! :clap2:

i have a crystal and a xecuter3 and it works like a charm

theres rumors that when you connect to xbox live that they scan you HD for unnormal files if they find any you will get banned

Im thinking about modding my PS2 to play burned games. Just have a few questions

1) could any burner and anykind of dvdr work on the ps2
2) would you recomned a modchip or some kind of device
3) what product would you recomned and which sites are reliable

version1 to version4 only use dvd-r
version5 to version10 use dvd+r (reccomended) or dvd-r
Other than that, there is no other "special" burners for ps2

I reccomend getting a flip top cover with swap magic discs. Easy install, cheap, and no chance of ruining your ps2 with soldering. I got mine from here http://www.swapnslide.com/fliptop.html

Also HDadvance works well too i hear. But thats more expensive and your limited by space etc.

I bought my xbox modded with 2 controlers and it set me back approx 500$CDN. It has an Xecuter3 Modchip. So far I have not had any issues with playing any type of games. If you were to ask me. An xbox is the best choice for someone who downloads lots of movies. I have My xbox networked with my computer. Whats cool about my setup is my xbox is connected to my home theater so I can play movie from my computer on my xbox onto my home theater w/ surround sound (as long as the movies have an 5.1 track).

I feel such a noob for this..but: how do I burn a mdf file? Shoulc I convert it? My chipped ps2 doen't read the "DJFFNY.mdf"?

mdf should have a file that is .mds

its like a bin/cue made by alcohol 120%

so i'd recommend that program to burn it

for some reason i cannot close the flip top cover so that the screws align with each other....i think it is a problem with the "silver reset and eject buttons" thingy....is there a special technique that i can use to manipulate that thing so it can fit?

HI, just got a PS2. Its the new thin kind. Wondering what is the best chip to mod it with? I want to play ntsc and pal formats. And the ability to play region free dvd's also. Anyone install chips in Houston,TX? PM Me..

I don't know much about modchips... but its probably easier to get a hard drive. I bought a hard drive, ethernet adaptor & hd loader disc for under �70. I download games & transfer them to the PS2 hard-drive & its much easier then buying discs... Plus loading time with a hard-drive is great.

yes because it is illegal for them to sell a modchip that can already bypass the microsoft protection

check out http://www.xbox-scene.com and read the tutorials based on which chip your getting

you'll have to get to #xbins on efnet to get like everything you need

hi all would appreciate some help/advice, i wanna connect pc and xbox(not to go on internet), have installed flashfxp on pc, all i need to know is do i need a NIC to connect xbox and pc with crossover cable , (have no NIC installed at mo), if any could give me some advice or even a walkthrough would be grateful, .... ( xbox has evox dash installed)

If you use a (good) modchip (for ps2, and for xbox too I guess) you just need to open your console, install the chip, close console, boot .. it should work automagically.
No flashing or applications required. (although many -good- modchips allow for firmware updates)

i have heard a few people say that they can play PS2 games on their xboxs. I dont know is this is true though . Has anybody here got an xbox that can do this?? Or is it all a lie??
