Not unless you have some other kind of mod device. A swap magic disc or some such (I'm not familiar with them myself). If you want to just put it in a retail PS2 with no other external influences, you'll just get a screen telling you to please put a PS2 or DVD format disc in.

Thought id add my 2 cents.
Media is a big issue with xbox coppies and what dvd player the xbox has, there are 3 to date.
To be on the safe side i recoment using samuri infinity ryteck dyed discs. I know some people preffer verbatum disks but my xbxo doesnt like em and using 2 xboxs i have found infinity to be the best. The important thing is the rytec dye , and dont use "+" discs as they arent that good either.
Also when using simple cd's for smaller games or dashboards etc use a good quality cd rw.
Most faults when newly chipping an xbox are due to shitty media.
I can also recoment the xecuter solderless chip , easy to install etc , if a muppet like me can do it then anyone can.
Hope this helps some people out.

On the media thing.. there's three different DVD drives in Xbox'es and I guess they're different when it comes to which media it prefers.
My drive seem to take whatever it gets, have tried with three different types, all very cheap ones and they've worked flawlessly, as long as they're not +R so go for -R's.
You can check which drive you have by looking at the shape of the diskholder, pictures are around on xbox scene, I'm to tired to look them up now, but can edit in what I have aswell as the link to the pictures tomorrow.

Princo DVD-R's work well (flawlessly) in my Xbox with a Philips drive, and they cost me AU$0.50 a piece. So do clear coloured CD-R's for that matter (CD-R's don't work on most Xbox's). The most important thing is what drive you have in the Xbox (I tried looking for the guide on Xbox-Scene but couldn't find it at the moment..).

My brothers xbox plays almost all media including +, mine on the other hands is a fussy bstard when it comes to that. It can also depend on the burner and software you are using. Its all trial and error really.
Good idea posting help on this forum because on TB1 i posted a thread asking for help chipping my xbox and at first the thread was moved from games to hardware then it was locked and basicly i got no help appart from users who messaged me. If i find the tutorials before the other guys ill post the links.

The Xecuter 2.6 lite will work on any version of XBOX, I believe you can get a solderless adaptor for this chip but LCP on the 1.6+1.6B has been redesigned so not sure if it would work.
<< Also recommends Datawrite Grey DVD-R.
I have been able to burn any game at 8x onto this media and the XBOX has read it with no probs.

The Xecuter is a great chip, AGREED. But be careful on any xbox bought around or shortly before christmas of this year, i'm not totally sure on this but on the xbscene threads lately i've been seeing alot of posts about burnt out wires and such. There are sevral step by step guides available on most sites that actually SELL the chips and here:
http://www.xbox-scene.com/tutorials.php
at xbscene.
If you have a fiarly newer box, i'd go Xecuter 3 series or the new Xenium Ice (Xenium Ice is the only one i know thats "flawless" with 1.6b ver of the boxes.) Get it here:
As for media, most of the new boxes respond well to Verbatium / Princo / Sony Branded I have had a 100% sucess rate with these 3 products, perfect play on 31 out of 31 games, and my new modded box is 1.6b.
As far as online, Kai seems to me to be about 1000000x more stable than nexboxconnect (the new release of the proggie xbconnect) As over time it develops problems with connection and game stability, but expect a new version soon. Get em here:

It must decompress as some sort of image file. Bin and cue maybe? If you want to burn them with Nero you select the Recorder menu at the top, and the Burn Image option. An alternative is Alcohol 120%, which is a very nice program for burning images. Everyone has a favourite though.
thats what i use it is very easy and then just burn the iso with nero

Since recently i have an Xbox, and overlooking the internet for games ever since, but i ran into a problem, i see dozen of games, but only a few in PAL. Most of them i can only find in NTSC version. Why? I know sometv's can display them, but mine is old, and cant. Cant i just convert ntsc games to pal? (there cant really be THAT much of a difference, can there?) Now i see all these games, but cant play them. Or am i not really noticing something, and are most games released as PAL version aswell?

there's a pal/ntsc switchdisk, i dont have it anymore and its very old, download one of the games and give it a try i think the new chips/bioses have autodetection anyways and auto-swtiching

but the switchdisk is for setting your xbox to an other region, thats not the problem, as i undertand that my modded xbox can play all regions, it's my tv that is the problem.

have you tried to download and play any of the NTSC games, becuase I'm pretty sure on a lot of games there is no real difference between the versions, just some format codes or something in the default.xbe (or whatever that file is) and a modded xbox disregards that. I have and NTSC box and every PAL gmae i have downloaded has worked fine for me. In my opinion, its worth a shot to try a few NTSC games and see if the work. If you have a big enough hd in you xbox, just through them on to it and don't waste any media. good luck
