Sorry if this already been meantioned, but frankly, I cba to read 10 forum pages.
But in my filters I have some filters set for download, but they dont work. For exampel, "Contains lost in TV/XviD", I have several of these, with different keywords, but they dont work, they dont start to download when a new episode of Lost, for exampel, is uploaded.
Thanks for answers.

well if you cant even be bothered to read the thread (or the HELP GUIDE) then i cant be bothered to do it for you.
a lot of work went into this program, and it's freely available to anyone who wants it. the least you can do is spend 5 minutes looking at the help guide.
Sure I can do that, if I just can find it...
You couldve given me a hint, but IŽll look.
the help guide may be a good place to start. its on your start menu. alternatively press F1 in the program.

I dont know what u thought I might be doing wrong, but as far as I can see everything is ok.

Well, I only have "download" filters, no ignore or whatever, all filters I have is set to download, but it never does, download that is.
I know setting it like this will download every version of Lost, every version of stargate, and so on, but since its not working at all atm I havent bothered with trying to perfect them.

omfg.
EDIT: i should also point out that when you add an active filter, this checkbox is automatically checked (if it wasnt already). this means you have manually unchecked it 7 times.

When I add a filter it does not check itself, believe me, I just tried. I tried checking it, but then the program did not notify me of any torrents, maybe the once I had in my filters, didnt have it on long enough to find out.
So I have to make a filter first to notify me about everything if I want a notify for all new torrents, and then check it?
But in the helpfile it says:
"Enabling Torrent Filtering
You can use this check box to toggle torrent filtering.
When unchecked, torrent filtering will be off. You will be notified of all torrents that are uploaded.
When checked, TBNotify will only alert you of torrents that match your filters."
As far as I understand I wouldnt have to have that box checked if I just want the program to download the shows I have filtered, what am I missing here?
Edit: So u are saying I need that box checked for my filters to download the "download" filters I have? And the helpfile says that that box is only for me not being notified of anything except the stuff I have in filters.
More edit: from Helpfile:
Enable/Disable Specific Filters
You can use the check box next to filters in the filter list to enable or disable that particular filter.
When checked, the filter is active.
So my filters are active according to the Helpfile, and I dont have to check anything else for them to work.
Sorry if Im over doing this, but u told me to read the helpfile and now u are saying something that totally contradicts the helpfile.
So I have to make a filter first to notify me about everything if I want a notify for all new torrents, and then check it?
Yes, just like the help guide says. TBNotify will act according the filters you specify.

I can't see the problem here. When you check the "Filter Torrents?" box, it enables your filters. If you don't, you will just be notified of all torrents.

IF YOU WANT TO USE FILTERS THEN YOU NEED TO CHECK THE "FILTER TORRENTS?" BOX. ITS THAT SIMPLE.
When you do, TBNotify will look at your filters and notify you of the notify ones, download the download ones and ignore the ignore ones!

The box next to each filter is to toggle that particular filter. Of course you have to enable filtering in the first place, that part is common sense. The help guide didn't tell you to start your computer before adding a filter either, you have to use common sense for some things.

I am not contradicting the help file at all. Please tell me where i am? The help file is as simple as it gets. If you can't understand it, then maybe TBNotify is not for you.

Geez, u dont have to get so touchy.
"Enabling Torrent Filtering

When checked, TBNotify will only alert you of torrents that match your filters."
Keyword here is Notified. When I read that text I dont get that that box have to be clicked for the filters to work, I read it like If I want to Only be notified when my filters are getting "activated", click it, but if I want my filters to work but still be notified of all uploads, I should not click it.
But I will do what u said, u are probarly right.
Thanks anyways.

For some reason TBNotify won't work as it should after the downtime (and upgrades) the last couple of days. Whenever it downloads a torrent and starts it, I get a "file does not contain torrent information" message (or something like that) in my client (Azureus currently). Any idea why? Or suggestions to how to fix it?
EDIT:I thought perhaps it was because I downloaded stuff that was "too new" if that makes any sense, that perhaps some information was changed after i DL'ed the torrent, but I tried with some old ones and got the same error. The exact wording is "Error: No torrent information found in file (Contents invalid - bad header)".

Hey twig, just checking in to give thanks to TBNotify and you.
It does crash a bit on my Win2k3 SP1 server... Usually after a reboot or after a long period of up time. I just restart the app and keep trucking.
If there are any logs you'd like a look at let me know...

glad you like the program. but as 2k3 server isnt designed to be a workstation OS, it's not something tbnotify will be supporting.

I have a weird problem...
Every time I start BTNotify, a Windows Installer pops up and tries to install Microsoft Word 2002...
It happens also when I push the "Search Torrents" section and when I try to download a torrent with TBNotify...
tbnotify doesnt use anything related to word/office.
did you do a full install? and have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling?
#487980 by unknown[578] at 2005-12-20 04:23:55 (7 years ago) - [Report]
I reinstalled and used the complete install but it still keeps happening...
And it just happens for the first time I start the program, use the Search Torrents section or try to download
a torrent... When I just push Cancel a few times it goes away.
