OK - Here is a 'scene' quality method of converting DVD to SVCD using popular tools and CCE as then encoder.

All links to apps are provided where legal.

EDIT - Thanks Negge

I find DVDx very usefull for this job...
Since I'm too tired to write a tutorial myself about this, I just googled for one... and it's a good one

http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/mpg/dvdx-svcd.htm

It also does more things... but just check it out

Great guide overall, it's a bit easier though for the average user to use DVD2SVCD for this purpose, it uses all the same apps.

All DVDx does is act as a frame server from the DVD, you still need to manually encode it.  Personally I prefer to do it myself so I know what's happening.

This is a guide to do a 'scene' quality SVCD encode.  Those other tools allow you to do SVCD encodes - but this guide tells you how to do it by the 'rules'

Great guide yes but when you click the link it jumps to the second part of the guide, it should go the the "Guide" link right? I prefer using DVD2SVCD though 'cause it uses all the same apps though it's very more userfriendly (not many people know shit about AVS scripting).
