Stickied and unlocked to get a little more exposure to the group. :smirk:

AudioScrobbler has a new site, as most will have noticed. http://www.last.fm/ is the one, and I've got to say it looks a lot nicer than it used to. New features, very nice design, plus the plugin still works!

Step by step:

1. Sign-up with AudioScrobbler's free service: http://www.last.fm/signup.php

2. Download a plugin for your favourite media player and set it up: http://www.last.fm/help/plugin (Supported players: Winamp, Foobar, iTunes, XMMS, QCD, etc.)

3. Join the TBytes group: http://www.last.fm/group/TorrentBytes

4. Start listening to music! (The plugin updates to their servers every 90 seconds so you can't abuse it by cycling through your entire playlist)

I swear they're not paying me to do this. :unsure:

Does it matter if I don't listen the whole song? I mean, I usually just use suffle and press a lot of B in Winamp to get some nice tune playing

If you play the song for 90 seconds (in Winamp) then it'll show in your profile, otherwise it won't.

That's not how it works. Afaik, the plugins transmit the data after half of the track's length has been played or after 3 mins(?) whichever comes first.

sensedit: Depends on how long the song is. If it's 40seconds long for instance it will update the server half-way through, but any longer than that (in the 5-6min range) it's around 90seconds.

What I said could be a bit confusing in case you have songs that are shorter, because the way I explained it meant that they wouldn't be shown in your profile on LastFM.

maunoedit: Well if the site has a correct explanation it goes like the following quote and at least my plugin follows this procedure:

last.fm FAQ wrote:

The song is submitted after you have listened to 50% or 240 seconds of the song, whatever comes first. Any manual skipping or seeking through the track will cause that song not to be submitted.

I hate how it doesn't submit the short songs though... I have quite a bit of those. :/

think the plugin is disabled. I can't update either. Haven't been able to update since yesterday.

After I downloaded and insalled the plugin it didn't show up in my winamp plugins (in the preferences). Anyone know what's going on?

I have the "lite" free version, I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

It's in Prefs -> Plugins -> Media Library
